No idea, it's a long time from now, for me, but they say 40 is the new 30...so what's the big deal? Of course, you hear about men going through "mid life crisis" all the time, so I'm sure it happens to women, too.

Some women, like men, feel very old at that point in their lives, believing the old ways of that being 'over the hill' and all that crap. Others don't have a problem with it. I will be 42 this month (30th) and have never had a problem with being in my 40s. Some women i know that are in their 40s say they are getting too old for this or that. I tell them that they are still very young and only as old as they think or feel they are. I definitely don't look or feel anywhere near 40, so that may be why I don't have a problem with it. Who knows what I will be like at 50 or 60? That isn't too far off from me now, but yet it seems like it's way off. I guess it all depends on how you look at life, yourself, and your age (or just age itself). I think it's just another year, another age, another number to add to my age, etc. I do celebrate birthdays and think they are something to celebrate with friends and family, no matter the age (heck, I threw a party for my fiance's 55th birthday last month and he is throwing me one this month). But, I was also raised to do this--celebrate the day you were born.
So, if you feel good about yourself, your life, and aging, then I don't think you will have a hard time with turning certain ages.

I had a VERY hard time with it initially as it represented to me "middle age". I didn't want to change the way I dress or wear my hair and become matronly. I just decided to go with the whole "40 is the new 30" thing and go with being 30 again. I've gotten used to it now and I try to take excellent care of myself so that I don't feel or look old. I AM proud though of what I've learned and I wouldn't want to give THAT back.
I did have a bit of a crisis though. The age thing hit me in that I finally got out of a miserable 18-year marriage and found a man that I adore. So, in that sense I feel very young and sexually vibrant.

Depends on the woman, I guess. I'm 41, and it's fine. Although, I do joke about it with my younger friends. I say I'm 29 for the 12th time. :D

Sure it is difficult for some people to face Age 18. Every year is a passage and it is what you make it.
