You'd think women would consider the fact that all forms of contraceptives are not 100% effective before spreading their legs for guys they aren't serious about and getting themselves pregnant. If your self control lacks so much that you can't seem to remain abstinent, then don't come crying to Y!Answers when the condom breaks and your sex partner/boyfriend/husband of however many months/years is leaving you and you're _ weeks/months pregnant with his baby. THINK. If you aren't financially stable and haven't finished high school/college, it's simple ... don't have sex. And if you do choose to have sex, don't be shocked when your period is late and the pregnancy test comes out positive. In my book, statements such as "the condom broke" or "I can't afford a baby" are not justifiable reasons to follow through with an abortion, or even adoption. You knew there was a chance the condom could break and you still let a penis inside of you? Cool. Deal.

No Chelsea J, I'm not STUPID, just informed. Thanks.

Kardane: I didn't even bother to read your paragraph because you automatically assumed I am a pro-lifer and nowhere in the above statements did I mention I am.

Pugsley: I get hit on quite a bit, actually. And for your information, I do have a boyfriend. However, none of what you said has any relevance my initial rant, so I have chosen to give you a thumbs down and ignore it.

I completely agree. I'm not a pro-lifer, but I agree that there has to be some self-restraint. Just because the world might afford you an abortion, you shouldn't go out there and spread your legs. It annoys me to see the people who have sex and go out and ruin their lives because of their stupidity. I frankly have no patience for them.
I don't believe any of the excuses above are valid. Nor do I believe that you didn't know he would leave you, if you had no binding commitment. That's stupid. You must be incredibly stupid to believe that. For some guys, it's another screwing opportunity and they'll take it. They're not going to be in labor nine months later.
Abstinence is the best birth control.

Whereas I agree with some of your comments, you are being a little too harsh a judge. After all sweetie, we are all animals, and animal urges are incredibly hard to resist. I'm glad that you have perfect self control, but too many others are not as strong as you.
I blame the lack of proper sexual education in schools. I think it's great that you advocate abstinence, but for the rest of us I think it would be better to have proper education given to girls and boys about what actions can and will result in a pregnancy, and how to properly protect yourself.
I also don't believe that abortion should be used as a primary form of birth control, but you can't honestly say it's fair to a child to be born and or raised by a child.
I'm just using good common sense here. So get off your soap box already!

why would men not be asked the same question? I agree that if your not ready for a child not to engaged in sexual activity..but what I don't understand is why you would put all the responsibility on the woman? Last I checked it takes two to make a child, are men not equally responsible for the end result. Why not write "hey guys keep it zipped?" You know woman my own the gun but men pull the trigger. Our society seems to place less responsibility on fathers and yet they are so important in the development of children. Why is that?? Cool. deal!

I think it is your right to think this, but to believe that most people will stop having sex because there is a small chance of error in the birth control methods is naive.

I agree with you. But there are some women in the world who were sexually abused or raped as children and while some women through up at the thought of sex, others get over-joyed by it.

I think some girls and some women are like this because they didnt get all the love and attention they needed growing up, so they ended up being careless.

ENOUGH OF THE ANTI-ABORTION BULLSHIT! god damn it i hate the pro-lifers. 'my religion/personal beliefs say this is bad, so i'm gonna cram them down everybody's throat by trying to strip away a woman's right to do what she wants with her body.' its called pro-CHOICE for a reason. you don't like it? don't do it, don't talk about it, and don't come crying to us when the unplanned pregnancy ruins your life. and whats more. what the hell crawled up your *** and died? you never had sex before? better yet, ever had a girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever you thought you were serious about and then suddenly 2 months later its over and you're wondering what happened? so isnt it possible that a simple error in judgement could lead to such a situation? if your self control lacks so much that you can't resist attacking people in an emotionally troubled state, maybe you shouldnt be posting on yahoo answers.

Basic human instinct would be why. Lack of common sense and common knowledge would also be why.
