If you wish to use "butt-putty" for a job like this,I'd suggest drilling
a couple of holes close to the center of the ding(gives the filler
something to bond to) & fill with a product such as "Dura-glass
or 'Tiger-glass'to a point BELOW body panel level.Let cure com-
pletely & finish fill with a LIGHT body filler.Finish sand,perhaps use a glazing compound,sand,prime,& then apply finish coat.
