i think emo people are cool. but who started it all?

It was originally a type of music that was sterotyped as being emo-tional. Emo for short
today they have taken the term and used it to describe the depressed ppl. Mainly the ones who slit themselves...it sad, which that has gone into emo dressign, always wearing black, greys...a more depressing look.

I think emo is supposed to be a "style" (the kind of music you like and how you dress). I think I heard someone say it started in like the 90's or something, but it just became popular, from what I know. Most people I know that are called Emo are really quiet, wear a lot of black, hate rap, and love heavy metal. I actually saw a girl that people called Emo, and she had cut herself all up and down her arm. Sad.
But a lot of people just use the term really loosely when they see someone who's quiet that they don't know very well.
From what I know, I definitely don't think I would be considered "emo".

yeah i think they r cool to but everybody says that emo ppl cut themselves i know a few emo ppl myself they are actually really nice
oh yeah they wear awesome clothes!!!!!!!!!
yes i like black and stuff like that but no I am not emo i am the most hyper and weird person nybody will know

i dont know but everyone one says sad ppl r emo but anyone can be emo. emo means emotional. there can be a overly happy emo. there is a happy emo in my class
