Em87, you need to really study the Confederate Constitution and the reasons the Southern states seceeded from the North. If slavery was an issue, why didn't Lincoln issue an emancipation proclamation as soon as the Southern states seceeded?
In any event, the Emancipation Proclamation did not free one single slave. It applied to "the territories in rebellion" (where it had no authority) and did NOT apply to slaves in the Northern states (yes there were slaves in the North).

First of all, the confederate flag stands for racism, and should not even be in use. However, that is the right of each individual. As I go by the constituion, unlike our president, the right to burn the flag should remain legal, as should their right to fly it.
