I own this movie and I was just wondering what everyone's opinions were on the music, plot, characters, etc.

I walked out of the movie theater it was the worst movie ever. I dont care how many minutes are in a life time and I dont care about people jumping around and singing.

Well, we bought this for one of my daughter's friends as a Christmas present, then found out they already owned it... so we opened it and watched the first hour. I was almost as surprised as when I watched Pulp Fiction because everyone had said what a fantastic film it was. Although I found the songs clever and the storyline interesting, I would NOT recommend it for children, or even young teens. There's just too much bed-hopping and drug-using and needle-sharing and stuff.... it's a little mature for them.

Otherwise, like I said, it appeared from the first hour to be a good story with the kind of cleverly written songs you haven't seen in a musical in a while. Very Lerner & Lowe or Rogers & Hammerstein in that way.

i think it pales in comparison to seeing the actual play...but for the most part all of the songs, characters, and plots that i liked from the play were in the movie too. it was decent.

I liked it. It could have definitely been better and I thought Adam Pascal and Rosario Dawson had no chemistry whatsoever, but I really liked the music.
