My first and last name end with the letter 'y'. I was wondering if there was a literary technique named after this pheononomon.

Consonance is the general term for the repetition of a certain sound. Assonance is the name for repeating vowels, like 'y'. I don't think that there is a specific term for the phenomenon you describe, since it's not quite an end-rhyme.

[EDIT:] Found it! Specifically at the ends of words, it's called a half-rhyme, sprung rhyme, near rhyme or eye rhyme.
