It depends unless you want to buy a ton of clothes that can be worn by either boy or girl, which are really hard to find, it is probably best to wait until you find out the sex. If you are going to wait to find out then start buying now so you can get a little at a time and have all you need. Even if you do find out the gender make sure you get a few for both because ultrasound are not always 100%. Good Luck!

I actually started the day I found out I was pregnant. of course I did not know what I was having yet, but I could get baby blankets, diapers, bibs, bottles, baby memory books, and generic things like that.
I used my time while pregnant to go to garage sales and found the cutest baby clothes (after I knew i was having a boy). Much of these were brand new too! I also bought "lots" of baby boy clothes on eBay. They actually sell them in "lots" which means a large variety of clothing at one time.
I ended up having to go on bed rest in my 6th month. I am a single mom, with no family either. So, needless to say, i was really glad i stocked up on things when I could. After I went on bedrest, I really wasn't able to shop as i did.
Congrats and good luck to you!

I bought big ticket items such as crib, dresser, etc. during the 6th month. I purchased other items after the baby shower. A co-worker who deliver 4 weeks early told me to try to have everything ready for baby's arrival at least a month before due date since she was caught off guard with early arrival.
I created a registry of everything that I needed for the baby regardless of if I intended to purchase it myself. I researched what I wanted and then added it to the list. I updated the list as I made purchases. We had everything we needed with the exception of gender specific clothing by the 8th month. (Baby's sex was a surprise)
Good Luck!

I waited to buy most of the things after my baby shower. But, if your guests will most likely follow your registry, its never too early to be buying unisex things (unless you already know the sex). Some people are superstitious about buying unborn babies things. Its up to you.

i was always told not to buy or accept any baby things untill month 5. Things are usually on track by then and the risks are much lower

well you can get stuff that will not matter if boy or girl. I waited and got in trouble I had to be put in the hospital so everything we got was from my mother going and picking out stuff. I will say a special pray for you'll.
Good Luck

When ever you want, they need a lot and very expensive, so don't wait too long, but don't start too early either..
