the nunchuck i couldnt find what it uses but you do have to buy it seperatly for $19.99
the remote needs 2 AA batteries and will last for 60 hours
the xbox 360 wireless pad also needs 2 AA batteries

The wireless 360 controller takes normal AA cell batteries, nothing special. Any old brand will do, Duracell, Energizer, etc.
Each controller requires 2 batteries.
