If you have a bad radiator cap seal then you might be boiling the water out of your radiator, leaving only the antifreeze behind, which would appear to you that you have a low coolant level. remember that your radiator coolant is half water and half antifreeze.

Be sure the radiator cap is good. Look at the rubber gaskets when its cold. Check the exhaust for any excessive white smoke coming out. This could mean a head gasket leak between the combustion chamber and coolant passages. The worst case would be coolant in the oil. Look at the dip stick and under oil fill cap for a white milky residue.

Got the year what Model, and miles would help? Cyl. head gasket leaks? Altima engines can burn coolant and never be noticed when the intake gasket was not replaced correctly.

is there a sweet smell inside the vehicle?..if so your heater core is shot..check floor boards around heat vent to see if its wet. if your heads were leaking you would have oil in your coolant and coolant in your oil...pull your dipstick out, check for anything on the stick besides oil..it would be frothy...and your overflow would have oil in it,check your radiator cap's seal to see if its worn..probably isn't because you would notice this pretty quickly..overheating,leaking..ect

scary! if it's not leaking out on the ground, it MIGHT be leaking into the combustion chambers. (very bad news) Check the oil. Is it too full, look like a chocolate milk shake?
