I do not know, but i have also noticed a rise in the number of drugged up teens coming to my store for temporary tattoos and fake ear rings late at night.

It is now considered an art, to have something etched into your skin forever. I am not completely sure about the metal, but tattoos are a way to express yourself freely and to show people your artistic side and the way that you feel.

I think it is a natural urge. Nearly every tribe did some form of it.
Also we really don't have a trial to become an adult. When you are young that really is something that we are missing.
