It might surprise you to know that Max Factor was the first brand of makeup sold in the US. Also, Loreal makes lancome. The only things that I buy that are 'high quality' are foundations and brushes. The foundations from the higher brands tend to be a bit better on my skin, although that might not be the case for everyone. And expensive brushes are noticibly better than the drug store variety.

Of course!

In lots of cases, the cheaper makeup works as well or once in a while better than the more expensive makeup.

It is very safe to use - I use Covergirl, Revlon, Maybelline, and some others, and I have never had a problem at all.

Yes, of course it is! Believe me,anything that stores sell is safe! If it wasn't, they wouldn't be allowed to sell it. Think of all those tests they have to run....

BUT if you're thinking about quality, yes, MAC is better. I mean, cheap brands like Revlon, Cover girl, etc. DO work, but to less extent.

for example, if you're thinking about compacts, MAC will cover blemishes much better than Revlon, Covergirl, etc.

& it's more likely to last longer.

so if you get a cheap brand, you will probably use more of it since it doesn't work as well, as opposed to MAC when you would only use one dab.

Personally, I would say, for most make up: lipgloss, mascara, eyeshadow, etc. you can just get it cheap because it's pretty much the same wherever you go. BUT you should care when it comes to powder, foundation, etc. anything that goes on your face should be good quality.

Personally, I use MAC compacts...I think they cover the best. But if you already have pretty good skin (no blemishes) try to stick to Benefit because it won't clog pores or make you look as cakey as MAC.

GOOD LUCK!!

Of course, Maybelline and CoverGirl both have great mascara.

Almay has amazing coverup (Physicians Formula too),

And Bonnebell has the best eyeshadow sets.

You can buy brushes for cheap at AC Moore or a craft store.

And it's all very safe if you keep it clean and change the mascara every three months (this applies to every mascara).

Makeup for 80 bucks is ridiculous, and the look is un-original.

Benefit is expensive but it's good and worth it, but the brands above are bloody fanstastic.

Designer makeup is much like designer clothes... you're paying for the name more than anything else! I've worn Maybelline, Revlon and L'Oreal brands for over 25 years; they're all great.

Don't worry about the labels so much as what works best with your skin type and complexion!

Definately that make up is as good.....Idk why they make a really big deal about Clinique etc. I used to spend a lot of money buying that kind of make up but I don't really see a difference between them and using Maybelline, Neutragena, etc. I think that "some" expensive make up just has extra chemicals that aren't good for your skin. But I also wouldn't recommend dollar store!!!! My little sister bought some and not only did it smear a lot but she also broke out.

It is not only safe, but sometimes even better than the pricey ones. I have seen very good reviews on makeup such as Rimmel and Revlon. Go to this web site it is terrific and shows reviews on makeup. www.makeupalley.com

I swear by Revlon Color Stay products. They stay put, even in the heat of summer. Foundation will run you up to $15, depending on where you buy it. I've seen it at Wal Mart for $8.

you don't HAVE to use designer makeup, the "cheaper' stuff can work well too. The best part about the "cheaper" makeup is you can afford to buy a larger variety of it and play around with colors and quality and such without going broke.

I don't know if it is the best makeup out of all of them, but non-designer make up is definitely good quality - I use it all of the time!
