In the Sixth or Seventh grade, we read "Johnny Tremain" by Esther Forbes. It was a very exciting adventure story about a boy who was a very gifted apprentice to a silversmith. (Paul Revere even pays a visit) Johnny goes to work for a newspaper, and we get a look at the Revolutionary War in great detail. This was an excellent book.
