Vibe is short for "vibration." It a feeling or aura that someone might sense. People might speak of feeling "good vibes" at a party, "bad vibes" in the presence of a criminal, or "weird vibes" when someone isn't sure what is happening. People can "send" or project vibrations on the people around them. "Mary was sending this weird vibe when we met her and her boyfriend, Bob. Later, we learned that Mary broke up with Bob that evening."

Old post, but I have to answer for the people that use this site for dating advice. Here's the simple answer. It could mean a lot of things. Some girls enjoy role playing as a cat around their men, others use things like meow to tell you they're feeling playful or horny, still others use it to try and see if you'll react to it in a certain way. IE: "Aww, who's a good kity?" Bottom line, I'd be here all month trying to spell out every possible thing it could mean. Just go with it. Oh, and a good line if you're gonna play along is "I thought I said stay out of the catnip." But make it come across in a playful manner. Most girls like playful.

Eerie feelings. like when you feel a chill up your spine. Or you are in a situation and it just dosen't feel right. vibe is short for vibrations. like a tuning fork vibrates to a certain sound. If the sound is off then its a bad vibe (bad vibration)

they got a weird feeling that something was wrong

this phrase was originally based on belief in bad spirits, but is now just a common way of saying you have a bad feeling about something.
