When was your last appt? My doctor wouldnt listen to my babys heartbeat until he/she was at least 12 weeks because experience told them that if they tried to listen earlier and they couldnt hear a heartbeat yet, the mom would freak out worrying. Probably at your next appointment, your doctor will listen.

Hey...I'm 12 weeks and 2 days. I went to the ER on Sunday b/c I wanted to see if I could get a free ultra sound...lol...unfortunatley...They didn't give me one.....but they did check for a heartbeat with a doppler..and you could hear it really good. It was nice and loud..and the baby's heartbeat was fast. Don't worry..if you're concerned on your next appointment..if he doesn't do it...then tell him you want it done..and he will do it. But, usually it's the 3rd month they do it. Just curious..when are u due?? Email me at j_e_s_s_k_a@yahoo.com (no i in the name) I'm really wanting to talk to people that are just as far along as I am. I look forward to hearing from you.
One thing to keep in mind...unless you are cramping or bleeding..don't worry to much. I'm sure your "lil" one is just fine :)

Probably he cant pick it up with the instrument that he uses. But when he does an ultrasound he can see it beating. On your next appt. why dont you ask when will you be able to hear your babys heartbeat? best of luck!
