Are we talking about a kid burning kittens all on his own, or a bunch of college boys torturing a mouse?
The kid who burns kittens is mentally sick, a monster, whether he could have been anything else or not. He knows what he wants to do, and does it.
The kids who torture animals as a group are not, as individuals, sick monsters, but they're weak. The group they belong to, at that moment, is sick and evil, and they do nothing to set themselves apart from the general mood. They assume the others won't respect them if they back down from the game.
Corporations are machines. The people inside them aren't evil, but again, just weak. A company is like water running downhill: it will find the way to do things cheaply, at whatever moral price, so long as it prospers. The people inside the company don't resist, and anything that can't protect itself, like rabbits and cattle, is abused.

I'd say those people are just selfish and generally cruel to everything, not just animals. If you really wanna see someone's personality, I got told to look at how they would treat young children, old people and animals.

They're sick. I just saw on the news the other day; that someone put oil on a dog and set it on fire. I think the same thing should be done to him. This teen stated that he did it so he could get a criminal record to be known. Where are the parents? I know most parents have to work, but what about teaching morals?

they have no heart they feel that they can take care of the animals but then realize that they can't but they don't give them away they keep them and let them die which I find really sad that is why I wanted to work with the animal police til I SEEN just how heartless people can get and i knew that I would not be able to stand it I know I had to dogs, but now I have one and still to this day I am learning new things about him.

If we could come up with the answer to that, the Humane Society would have a much easier job.
Most animal cruelty cases I know of involve people who are either stupid or evil.
