Some people are against **embryonic** stem cell research (there are many kinds of non-controvertial stem cells) because they believe that it exploits the life of a human being. I guess it depends on whether you believe a cystoblast (pre-embryo) is human or not, and whether or not you believe the possible benefits of many lives saved is worth the cost of the cyctoblasts lost. One argument FOR embryonic stem cell research is that extra cyctoblasts are made from in vitro fertilization (several eggs are fertilized, but not all are implanted at once), and if not used for research they are just trown away-- if they can be used to save other human lives, some say that's better than throwing them away.
I think it is a wide misconception that babies are killed for embryonic stem cell research: this is simply not true (but it's probably one reason many are opposed). And the pre-embryos that could be used are byproducts of a completely different procedure anyway, so if you're against stem cell reseach for the above reason, you should also be against in vitro fertilization.
One more clarification: Egg cells and sperm cells are alive. It's a misnomer to say that life begins at conception. The debate is over when it becomes human or gets a soul. Even within Christianity, this varies widely. (Some believe it's not until babies are born, because Genesis says that God breathes the breath of life.)

Those who value human life from the point of conception
( when the sperm enters the egg), oppose embryonic stem cell research because the extraction of stem cells from this type of an embryo requires its destruction. In other words, it requires that a human life be killed. Some believe this to be the same as murder.
Against this, embryonic research advocates argue that the tiny embro doesn't have any features, brain and organs are not developed yet, so they don't consider it a human life yet.
Hope this helps

One source of stem cells is frozen embryos or eggs from a woman that have been fertilized by male sperm and have started to divide. A lot of people going for fertility treatments will freeze multiple embryos because inplantation of the embryo in the uterus doesn't always work the first time. After a couple conceives, they may have left-over frozen embryos. People who are against stem cell research believe that these embryos are human beings or potential human beings and to destroy the embryos in order to harvest the stem cells is the same thing as committing abortion.

Those people who believe life begins at conception are concerned about the use of embryonic stem cells.
These cells would be taken from embryos that are created during in vitro fertilization. The clinics keep the unused embryos until it is determined they are no longer needed; they are then disposed of/destroyed, sometimes by literally just washing down a drain.
Those who support the research say that these embryos are being destroyed, so why not let them be used to develop cures for disease?

There are two different type of stem cells; embryonic and adult stem cells. In an embryonic stem cell, a blastocyte(4 to 5 day old fetus) is used, and basically that means termination of a pregnancy to collect those cells. Some people feel that it is unacceptable to terminate one's life to save another's. Also in adult stem cell, which comes from bone marrow or the umbilical cord, some people feel that the person donating is being "used" or babies are being had only for their umbilical cord cells. It's basically a moral/ethical debate. Some people debate that millions of pregnancies are terminated anyway, so what's the harm...

do you want the information or only the evaluations that possible validate your position? #a million. Federal funding of any non-militia study is unconstitutional. #2. The as a lot as now a million,600 different efficient human being Stem cellular (ASC) applications are strategies and subsequently are loose to be utilized by using ANY medical practitioner. ASC study is at present being done by using medical study centers, universities, and different wellbeing-care and genetic-proper courses. maximum persons of this study has been privately funded. #3. efficient Embryonic Stem cellular (ESC) lines (which so a ways do no longer exist) will be a product and subsequently will be patented by using the discoverer and acquired to the utmost bidder. modern-day study on ESC lines is being performed by using pharmaceutical and drug agencies as well as different for-income corporations. also, once the federal funding stopped all of them placed those courses on carry because they did not opt to sink any money in it. #4.
