i have a HP PSC 1510 all in one printer-scaner-copier. Everytime i try to make a copy of pictures i get a thick black line across one half of the paper. Anyone know what the problem could be? This even happens with pictures i have taken myself and tried to copy them.

Hi, if you consistently get a black line across it and the rest of the picture prints ok, it means that your scanner is toast.

The cartridges and printer portion is probably ok if you can see the other parts of the picture printed properly. You can also test the scanner by doing a scan to your PC to see if you get that thick dark line. If not, then it means your copy function is toast, but you can still use the scanner as a scanner (not copy) and the printer.

You will need to get the printer serviced. Or you can use just it as a printer (ignore the scan/ copy functions).

I think if you change the paper to glossy paper it might help and you would have to change the settings of you printer so it knows what kind of paper it is printing on.
