It's a feeding a sharing thing to me. I like to make orange marmalade for the old folks ...they seem to all love it. Baking cookies and the art of wrapping them up pretty. At Xmas I make Baklava and Greek Easter cookies. I'm not even Greek but I love that stuff, love doing it and people enjoy getting it. Also decorating the tree. Simple things but traditional and inexpensive....things you can't buy.

nicely I see you haven't achieved your homework nicely. there isn't any Turkish Christmas custom when you consider that Turkey is a predominantly muslim u . s . and has been secular for the purely right 80 years. there's a sparkling Years custom in center and better classification households (even with the actual incontrovertible reality that it truly is so a lot extra problem-free to be certain villages rejoice it those days) that's composed of celebrating the hot 12 months's Eve with associates and relations. You get a christmas tree, noted as Yilbasi agaci(New 12 months tree) that's the very similar as a Christmas tree and purchase cutting-edge, drink and watch television till 3 am. I say custom concepts you even with the undeniable fact that it truly is in problem-free words been round for the previous 50 to 60 years. even with the undeniable fact that minorities are an significant area of Turkey, and the biggest one is the Armenian one. Armanians are eastern Orthodoxes and hence rejoice christmas on the sixth of January (yet no longer the seventh like another Orthodoxes). i will inform you what I keep in concepts yet something i choose you to bypass ahead and analyze your self, initiate studying before you ask such dumb questions. In Turkish the get at the same time is called Dogus Yortusu yet i do not comprehend the Armenian call regrettably. on the fifth of January, youthful ones visit kinfolk and associates making a music a music which i do not keep in concepts and they get presents in go back. At nighttime they serve a somewhat seafood depending (fish is mandatory) meal. day after immediately Christmas Mass takes position in virtually all Orthodox church homes in Istanbul, the only I attended replaced into an somewhat sullen yet calm and relaxing once (it felt a lot extra intimate than Catholic thousands even with the reality that) . And now go do your homework.

Stringing popped popcorn for garland on the tree...takes forever, but a great "family" project!!! Try not to eat it all, simply get a needle & thread and popped popcorn...time yourself on how long it takes to complete 1 strand of garland to go completely around the tree...at least once!

How about St. Nick's and children's shoes-this came from Germany that if kids are good and they leave shoes outside on the stoop St. Nick will come and fill them with candy if they've been good.
