1972, at Chico State in California, using the old IBM punch cards. This may not count, since I never actually touched the computer. It was a time-share, so we used terminals to input data without ever seeing the actual computer.
Next time was in 1982 or so, with a TRS-80 computer. That one I touched.

A long time ago. Which suggests a puzzle: until quite recently, the computer with the fastest rotating magnetic memory was a what? And when was it sold? I'll put the answer on my avatar.

i think i was 9. mom brought a tape drive computer home. this was back inthe mid 80's. its a foggy memory sorry. i remember it had a daisy wheel printer that always jammed. it didnt have a monitor.. just an RF swift to hook up to the TV.
