I have some questions that I have never heard feminists address.
I am male and love to dress female sometimes. Why is it degrading for a man to dress female, and when a woman dresses male it is ok.
Shouldn't feminists be fighting for the male to female crossdresser's rights and dignity?
Shouldn't feminists dress feminine inorder to express themselves rather than dress more masculine?
Perhaps crossdressing and the feminist movement would be an interesting area to explore.
Please send me a copy of your essay when you are done I would love to read it no matter what subject you choose.

I would start with the reason why feminism came to be in the first place and maybe what one act was well known for protesting for women's rights.

feminism and the aging female is a hot topic lately. I read that in our society, while men are defined by their accomplishments, status, wealth, honors--women are defined by their physicality. As our bodies age, men look more distinguished, women look old and undesireable. The media is the main culprit for this distortion. Even though we may strongly disagree with this message given us, it is impossible not to be affected by it. Feminist thought is for women to define themselves beyond an object. We can define our selves in many other realms, such as spirituality and wisdom, and our own accomplishments. Go to www.womansage.com for more info, and a good link to a Time Magazine article on women's midlife crisis. Good luck, Lucy

Some good topics are: Ida B. Wells and the Women's Suffrage movement and how it was stopped in the 1800's. 2nd topic: Not all of those trying to obtain suffrage were women! There were some straight men in the movement too. The question would be why they became feminists and who they were. Hint one was president of the United States and no it was not Abraham Lincoln.

First make sure what feminism is.
Many ,understand it as equality to men and not as "standing up for fairness or against suppression".
When we ask for equality, sometimes we loose our womanhood ,which has its own strength and beauty.
To me ,a rose can never be a Lily, both have their own beauty, but, you cannot ignore a lily to grow a rose.
I hope this helps.

Try this
"Feminism is largely responsible for the deconstruction of the American family, the murder of millions of innocent fetuses each year, and the influx of pornography in world culture."
I think that's an good start.

You might also point out that all the major first wave feminists were daughters of communists.
