My two big toenails have bruises under them. I did not injure them and have been wearing the same pair of shoes for several months. Is this a symptom of something?

Im a 30 yo male.

bruising is a sign of bleeding under the nail. you may have an infection of some kind, most likely a fungus. if the nails are seeming to get thicker than they were, you have a mild infection of some type and should see a dermatologist to determine what type of infection you may have gotten.
fungal infections of the nails are common and require long periods of medication to kill the fungus and allow the nail to grow out so the infected part of the nail can be removed.
another point- a simple bump of the toes against just about anything can cause the bleeding so think back about possibly having bumped the toes against so little a thing as a simple bump of a curb which you may not even have noticed when it happened.

Just suck it up and don't act like a pussy. Wrap it up if you have to. Do you think David Beckham got where he is b/c he was worried about a little bumped toe? You might even wanna go ahead and rip the toe nail off if it's wanting to come off. I've done that before (I didn't literally rip it - slowly work it out with some pliers or something and just take the pain). You'll live.
