my friend (12 years old) and i (13 years old) like to play with her doll's (not barbies) we don't like to play games like house or anything, but the last few times we have done it, i felt like something was wrong. but it's fun, and i don't want to stop. It's a fun way to let my feelings out and bound with my friends. Am i to old to play with doll?

Of course you're not. I'd rather you were 12 or 13 playing with dolls than some of the girls on this site asking questions about sex and getting pregnant! Be a kid and enjoy it!!

Sometimes at your age, it's possible that you get the feeling that it is wrong to play with dolls, because you are getting into puberty and may be developing other interests as well. Every kid is different when it comes to that. Don't be influenced by peer pressure. As long as you enjoy playing with dolls do so. Don't feel funny because other 12 and 13 year olds have other interests. You'll find out when you're too old to play with dolls at the moment you don't like them any more and most likely you will develop other more adult interests gradually. For the moment just be your own person and follow nature's course!

You're never too old, but if you're feeling uncomfortable, then stop.
A lot of girls keep their dolls out of sentimental value, and some women end up collecting the more valuable dolls they wanted as a child (but could have never afforded) like Madame Alexander dolls.
It's always sad to move on to a new stage of life, but with luck you can find some other things to do with your friends. Why not invite your friends to suggest a new game? Buy a fashion magazine and read it together? Go to the mall together? Or rent a video? You may find it's so much fun that you'd rather pick it than dolls the next time you get a chance - a much more painless way to decide whether you should give them up.

You're never too old for dolls! Eventually you might outgrow the fun and take interest in other things, like boys. But don't rush it. I say if you are enjoying yourself and it's also a good way to "let your feelings out" then good for you! Many kids your age don't have an outlet for that. If you still like playing dolls by the time you're say...19, then maybe you might just be a really late bloomer. You can keep on playing till your 86 years old, just don't tell anyone. But you're only 13 so it's cool.

Absolutely. In fact a friend left a baby girl doll here recently and my 17 month old son came out carrying her over his shoulder as if burping her. We rocked her together and pretended to put her to bed. I also pretended to breastfeed her just to see his reaction and that made him lash out at the doll and want a feed himself. It was quite comical. Though I'm not having any more children I would like him to understand what it means to be gentle with a baby and compared to other "typical boy" activities it is a very quiet one that helps him be calm for a few minutes. I really can't understand your husband's objections!

no you are not girls are trying to grow up way too fast these days girl you just keep playing with dolls and stay away from the boys untill you are about 14 or 15 . I like dolls and I collect dolls . I am a grown woman and I collect all kinds of dolls. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

No! I love my niece very much. Playing dolls with her is no problem. By me alone or both of us using different character voices for them, she creates and directs her own story ideas. Her knowing that I too like toys including dolls, how much more fun we have together? I have the opportunity to give her some wonderful happy memories of childhood when she is an adult hopefully.. Even if I did not like dolls myself, I would play with them for her. I would enjoy just being with her.

It sounds like you are still afraid of meeting people in a social environment and you are using the dolls as a substitute.
Maybe a bit old, but now that you say that you feel wierd about it, you can probably start to back off of them. Try finding hobbies that don't involve dolls.

You are never to old to play with dolls. Some people collect them all their lives. We all find beauty in different things. I love lighthouses. Anything nautical. Have fun with the dolls. Is a joy for you. That is what matters. Not what other people think.

I think that you will never be to old . You may get tired of it but you will never be to old even if you lived to be 5,000 years old (I'm 13 also and I like dolls)(and my cousin was about 15 before she got to busy to play with dolls) and my sisters and I play church and pretend that the dolls are our babies except I get dolls and my 1 year old sister for my babies (he he he)
