The last person hung in England was a young lady accused of murdering her boyfriend. She went to her execution bravely to the very end. Many plays, etc have been made of the life story of this young lady ; some-times those playing the leading role take on too much the tragedy in the lady's life, get caught up in playing her role, to the extent that they associate too much with the character they are portraying , and some end up committing suicide. The comment has been made : ..."Do not know , why they do not let the lady's spirit rest in peace" The lady had a son, he committed suicide a few years ago, public keep pinpointing him as the son of the lady who was last hung in England.Unfortunately I cannot remember this lady's name, but I know the story.

The last person to be hanged was 2 men. They shot a policeman and he died. However the one who shot the police officer was underaged to be executed so the other one was executed. But the unfair thing was that he had mental disabilities. The person who told the officer 'Give it to him' thought he meant shoot him. But other interpret that it means give the gun to the criminal. So today people argue over what the line 'Give it to him' meant as people interpret it differently.

It was Ruth Ellis. She was hung and in the end she was found to be innocent. That is the reason they will not do hanging in the UK anymore.
