Go somewhere quiet Obviously.

When I sit in my room I end up getting on the computer or watching TV or looking up music etc.

Go to the school, or library, if you decide to go to a book store or something, try not to be distracted by magazines and other books of interest.

Write outlines of what you need to study in each subject from each chapter and then expand.

Some advice I can give is to study the areas you are weak in, know what your learning style is (for example do you learn better by seeing, doing, hearing, etc.), try joining a study group, make flash cards to have someone test you or test yourself, stay organized, and make sure you manage your time wisely.

Break it down into small chunks. Don't study more than four hours for any given test. Relax by watching a Vitas music video.

whatever you do, dont wait until the last minute to study. study in small intervals every night, and your brain will have an easier time remembering everything. Every time i do this i'll almost always get A's on tests. so just study small amounts of material each night.

Make notes on positioned up-it notes and stick them on your bedroom walls and ceiling. Ask someone to ask you some questions. Draw spider diagrams. Make revision notes with diverse colored pens because the colors will make you save in ideas what you had written. Take breaks each and every 1/2 an hour. bypass on google, search for for previous exam papers, print them off, attempt to respond to the questions and ask your instructor to mark them.

Rewrite your notes. That always helped me a great deal. Lock yourself in a library. Be sure to take breaks though. You don't want to burn yourself out and you want to retain as much info as possible.
