Simply put, yes!
When it comes to success in the working world, grades don't really factor in all that much. It's more a matter of whether you've got the skills needed and "know your stuff."
Now speaking as a college professor, I can honestly tell you that attending college is helpful in the long run, so I would strongly suggest doing it.
The question of not being able to get into the college of your choice due to your lower grades won't hurt you all that much, because you can still attend another college.
For example, if you want to go to Harvard, then yes, your grades aren't good enough. But you can still go to a state school or community college and get a solid education.
My point is that a college education is a good idea, but so long as you choose a reputable and legitimate school that offers the kind of training you want, it really doesn't matter which school it is.

Just to let someone know my experience with "C's", I graduated average in class, with mainly C's, probably some D's and even maybe an F. So the important word here is average. Average wage is around $50,000, BUT, and this is a big one, I didn't make average wage by graduating with an average "C"!!!! I have been well below that, so I would say that try as hard as you can, if you can't go to the college of your choice, don't give up!! Still go to college even if it means going to a community college, as education,I have found the hard way, is very important in life, even for us average "C" guys..I hope this helps, good luck..

What your teacher says is true. Colleges don't like to waste their time and resources on those who are just there for the ride.
If it is all that stressful for you just to get good grades then don't worry about it. There are good people needed in all walks of life. Degrees are only needed for the high paying jobs. The majority of jobs out there...aren't.
The higher paying the job.. the more stress there is. If you have stress issues now just to try and get good grades, do yourself a favor and don't worry about the degree. The jobs that you get with those will make toast out of you.
That being said...
There is a trap that makes you feel like you have to have a new house and a new car every few years or you don't feel that you are successful. This is not so. Life is to be enjoyed. Work to live...don't live to work.

Hey, look at George Bush - he got C's and look at him now!
Of course, it helps if your father is a US Senator and then President of the USA and if you got C's at one of the most prestigious schools in the world!
You CAN get into college with Cs and BS. You just can't get into the famous Ivy league schools and you wont be wearing Duke blue or be a Stanford Cardinal. But there are over 4000 college campuses in the USA and plenty of them have students who got Cs.
The real question is, how successful do you want to be in life? The guys who said they got Cs in school and then wound up rich and famous -- hey, if they had worked as hard in school as they worked in business, they probably would have gotten A's.
After you get out of school the marks that you got in school count for nothing. What you get paid for is how hard you work for your business! So if you want to get a good salary in the future you will have to put in an A effort.

Of course you can!! as long as you set your heart to do things, you will accomplish them. There will be people who come along in your life who just want to see you fail, but don't let them get the best of you and show them you can do whatever you want. I messed up my last two years of high school and still got into a good university...do good on your SAT's and remember that even thought it may not take you 4 years to finish a "4 year degree", nobody finishes school at that rate considering the advancement with technology, having to work while your in school..etc. I was discouraged from going to college, but i am 21 and have a year left to go...think about it...

Same thing with me, I didn't do that well in school and I didn't want to go to college. I finally hired on with the phone co. and became a systems tech and made good money. I like working with my hands and it's a good job. I do think it's important to have good reading skills and some basic math and english to get a job. I had to read a lot of books on the job. As to college maybe it would be better for you to attend a trade school after high school.

Yes you can. For example, I graduated in 1999 with all D's and one F, but I got my diploma. And I'm just being real, I'm not gonna sugar coat it, because that is not what you asked for. But if you want to go to a good college, you need a high grade point average. I didnt get any college offers though.

Yes you can get through life with C's. You just have to find the right job and work at it. I got C's and tried college after coming home from Vietnam and got bored with college. I went to work for an oil company and I am now its Vice President in chrageof the land department!

It depends on what college you are trying to get into. I got into the college I wanted to because I worked hard in high school, but it's still a struggle for me. You have to ask yourself what you want out of life.
