i have verizon and i dont have a sim card but i was thinking about buying a phone on ebay. i wanted to know if i had to take it in to verizon and pay another activation fee to get the new phone to work and if they'll even do that.

If you're just doing an ESN change, they may charge a nominal fee. If you're activating a new line, you would have activation fees, etc.

Before you buy a phone off of ebay, get the ESN from the seller so you can make sure it wasn't reported stolen. Also make sure the phone is compatible with the carrier you plan to use.

Usually if you buy a phone on Ebay you can just slip the sim card you had on your old phone into the new one. If you don't have a sim card I suggest going into the store.

well... try punching in the last 4 numbers of the phone number... If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what to do.

You can activate it online on their website for free :). I think so. I think they still do it. :)
