Why not go to a large Chemist shop like Boots. There you will find a section with lots of makeup displays and you can spend time there choosing whatever you like and just take it to the checkout.
There is a separate display stand for for each brand name. Some stands may have testers (bottles or tubes of makeup which can be used for just that, 'testing' before you buy). This will allow you to try a shade (on your inside wrist, or back of your hand) and choose the one that blends with your skin colour.
If you buy liquid makeup you should also get some Translucent Powder almost every brand do Translucent. It will go with whatever shade of makeup you choose. There is a fairly new type of makeup you might want to try, it is a mousse type and is an all-in-one, so you wouldn't need powder with that.
You could also buy mascara, black or brown/black, brown/black is a softer shade but still dark.
Don't go too wild with the eyeshadow as it can look awful if not done properly. Try one of the little sets with two shades, say a light and dark grey or two shades of brown. Some have three shades of the same colour. Have a look in some magazines and see how the colours are applied.
If you want to try eyeliner get a soft one in a propelling pencil in the same shade as your mascara.
Practice well with blusher before you wear it. I would stay away from blusher untill you are pleased with the way you apply it.
You can pay as much or as little as you like for makeup. The prices are on all the stands. I have seen several tests done on different brands of makeup and the most expensive is not always the best. You will find the one you like best with trial and error like the rest of us. The fun is in the trying.
Don't be put off asking the girls on the makeup counters in the large stores for help as they will be well used to advising male models and actors about the right shades to use but they might advise you to use darker colours for the lighting.
Just remember less is more. You will look better if you go easy on the makeup. Hope you find this helpful.

Back when I used to cross dress (says the man with the girl avatar, lol) I used a lot of rimmel make up. It goes on very easily and does not irritate the skin.
Foundation is worth while. Eyeliner is a must even if you don't wear mascara. With eye shadow less is more but you have to choose a colour that compliments both your skin and your eyes or you will look bad. Lipstick is not essential and a more natural colour will usually look better (although I always wore black as I was quite goth).
Anyway that is my advice. Oh yeah, ask the girls on makeup counters in the stores for help and advice. They are usually really up on the latest trends and fashions and often give great makeup tips!

Be careful with cross dressing. It will do you no good.
If you are a compulsive cross dresser then your brain will produce a series of powerful neurotransmitters which give you a sensation of pleasure, well-being, sexual gratification, comfort, and self-identity. You will think about cross dressing a lot... like all the time. These neurotransmitters are the same chemicals associated with addictive behavior. If you try to stop cross dressing then you will find that you can't. You just return often worse than before.
The sensation or "high" that is achieved through cross dressing will be a powerful incentive. You will try harder and harder to have a better "high". You will find others like yourself who will encourage you to go further and further. At some point you will develop a female alter-ego. You will give "her" a name. And then you will fall in love with your female alter-ego. If you should get married, then your wife will complain that she feels like your second love. If you have children, they will be taught to keep "daddy's secret" or risk the merciless ridicule from their friends. Then when you are in your 40's you will hit a crisis. You will take greater risks with your cross dressing. You will consider surgery to look more feminine. You will even consider abandoning your wife and family to pursue your first love. Then you end up, alone, depressed, and wondering why.....
Cross dressing will do you no favors.

stick with neutral colours, maybe a soft pink. MAC and Napoleon do consultations, and they are brilliant. Cover your entire eye with light beige, and from the outer corners half way in, a darker brown (not too dark, but enough to see the contrast. Finish with a thin line of eye liner (either brown for neutral or black to stand out), from corner of eye to end of eye. Finish lashes with two-four layers of mascara. Depending whether you have big eyes, you may want to line the inside of your eyes with eye liner. A nice neutral colour lipstick finished with gloss plumps up the lips. For a more defined look, use lip liner. Practise makes perfect, and so does many hours in the bathroom in front of the mirror. Shopping for make up is lots of fun. If in doubt bring one of your girlfriends along and ask her for advice. However make sure she has good taste in make up herself and knows what she is doing. When in doubt just ask ladies at counter. You would be surprised, how helpful they may be. Good luck. When you become more confident then try more out-there colours. Blending and glitters. Oh and dont forget, use eye liner to refine eyebrows. And blusher (not too pink).

Hi, first of all - dont overdue it, if you put mascara, make sure you use very neutrual coluor lipstick, its nice to use a peach color blush too! i dont know where you live, but in London there are those great shops SpaceNK! Its a bit pricey, but they sell the best make up! Plus dont forget to look after yr skin, buy a good make up remover, Evelome is great, buy two masks : one hydratating and a face scrub or pore balancing one! And of course mosturiser! people forget normally that but you need all that stuff to keep yr base - face cleaned and looked after! If yr face looks fresh, then make up looks good too! good luck x x x

Get help with foundation and concealer for imperfections. If you can get away with not wearing these things then you r lucky. As far as colours and that aree concerned, everyone is different. If you have dark hair then go for browns golds greens and blues if you are blonde or fair then go for silvers yellows pinks and light blues. Black is good and smokey eyes suit men as well as womnen. good luck chuck

Well think basic, Mascara. Blush, Bronzer, Cover up. Use Cover girl or maybe even some stuff you can get in your mall like Mac. They can give you some colors and maybe help you with what you need.
