I did not watch it, but found this review....hope it helps.

A trip down South leads to some nice character moments amid an intriguing case.

I liked the overall central mystery of the show with the two brothers and their problems back then. As a country music fan from Chicago, I also liked how they showcased the way country can be seen differently in different areas. The realtionship between the brothers was very well done, particularly when the older tells the younger to just follow his dreams. "I knew this was coming." "I didn't." It was very real and made the entire case resonate. That last scene of the living brother playing in a small club but still happy was a nice coda. I also liked the bits where that former country star turned pop starlet tries to tempt him over. Having her be involved in the shooting was a surprise but I liked her expression as she was fingerprinted, as if realizing this may be some sort of karmaic payback.

The other guy in the band, not his brother.
The offer didn't include his Brother and he told his Brother and he was alright with it and he left. Then he decided he wasn't going to take the offer after all. This made the other band member mad, as he was into drugs and needed the money.
