I just got an old game for my n64, which I haven't played in about two years. But when I hooked it all up and turned the system on, the screen flashed white and then back to black, and the system just has a red light on. Any suggestions?

I can't remember exactly, but wouldn't the system just flash "Nintendo" if there wasn't a cartridge in?

Please help!

nintendos and there games are really old so sometimes they dont work right away all you have to do is blow in the game a couple of times if it still does not work just keep on blowing i know this because i have the same problems

it would just flash nintendo if it didn't read the cartridge, but your problem seems worse.

try blowing in the cartridge slot and the cartridge, and if that doesn't work it might be something with the TV ( it might be too new, just a geuss)

or something is wrong with the wires

and yes as far as i can remember the light is supposed to be red

Yeah, I don't think there is anything you can do. You might be able to look around and find someone who would fix it but it would be difficult because the games came out so long ago. That really sucks cuz those are good games. You could get OOT on the Wii virtual console if you want. Or buy the collector's edition with those games and more for the Gamecube.
