There was a short-lived sitcom (80's) about a guy whose imaginations could become real. Remember the title?

This guy had the ability to make whatever he imagined come out real. I vaguely remember him trying to keep an imagined dinner guest from fading away before his real guests discovered his secret. I think he had a daughter. I'd love to see it again. ANyone remember the name of it?
