Chapter Five of Part Two (the last chapter) begins on page 458 in the paperback edition, so there have to be at least 459 pages (check the first link. please, and click on "Table of Contents".)
Sorry - not having a copy of the book, I can't be more precise.
Aha - this is as precise as it can get, I think.
"How long is Atlas Shrugged?
The exact number of pages varies according to how the book is printed (page size, font size, etc.). The first hardcover edition had 1168 pages. The first mass market paperback edition had 1084 pages. Present-day editions are of similar size. In The Art of Fiction, Rand says that "there are 645,000 words in it by the printer's count." (p. 4)"
And here's another source:
"Atlas Shrugged
by Ayn Rand
List Price: $8.99
Pages: 1075
Format: Paperback
ISBN: 0451191145
Publisher: Signet"
Yikes, yet another answer:
"Book review: Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
The first thing I noticed about this book is that it is huge. A monstrous 891 pages long. After I had read The Fountainhead (thanks to my cuz), I had always wanted to read Atlas Shrugged. "
I guess, as the man said above: "The exact number of pages varies according to how the book is printed (page size, font size, etc.)"

Just from reading your post, I can deduce that you have never read Atlas Shrugged. I have read it. I could care less what a notable author looks like since personal appearance has nothing to do with the level an an individuals IQ. I am not saying I agree with Ayn Rand but this book is worth a read.
