I know that even though it's wrong I tend to judge people who drink because I grew up with Alcoholics & then was foolish enough to marry one? Do you judge people because of what you've been through in your own life? I really wish I didn't but I can't help but feel that way

I would be lying if I said that I'm not judgmental. Whether it's done consciously or unconsciously, I believe that we are all guilty of this at one time or another. The only thing to do about it is to recognize it, then rethink it. For example, sometimes I've been guilty of judging people who call themselves Christians. Hearing religious talk from them still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I definitely do not agree with them, but I tolerate them more than I once did. I don't diss them unless they diss me first, and I try to treat them, and everyone else, the same way I would like to be treated. My suggestion for you would be to keep in mind that people are people even if they are alcoholics, different races, different religions, etc., and that we cannot be defined by categories. Categories set boundaries, and humanity's diversity is boundless, or so I think. You are already conscious of your judgment, and recognizing this is the first step in the right direction.

What Ally T said. Or let's put it this way. Have you ever created something? A painting, a coloring, a sculpture, a drawing...a school project...anything? What do you do after you create it? Do you critique the colors, the proportions, the weight, whether it meets your expectations, does it meet the assignment criteria (if it's a school project)? If so what are you doing? That's right...you're judging your creation. I believe God created us...therefore he has just cause to judge us. Besides you misunderstand that verse. Read the entire thing in context. It's talking about hypocritical judgement. Of course if you're one of the misinformed people that believe God can sin, then you'll of course believe he can be hypocritical which is a flawed idea concerning God also.

I judge people all the time. I don't care if people judge me. It's a self preservation instinct. You make judgments in your best interests. If you don't, you could find yourself in trouble. I don't judge people like if I think they are going to heaven or not. That's Gods job. I do decide Who will babysit for me . where I get gas late at night, which person looks the nicest to ask directions, etc...

I dont like judging because I know it is bad. But I cant stop judging people who get drunk and lose their senses. I cant imagine not having control of myself.

I don't judge becuase I do not want to be judged.

No one knows the circumstances and experience behind any action nor should they assume its right or wrong to do so.

Leave judgement to the higher powers. Because ultimately it is their decision.
