(I'm always amazed by people who say that "war is a necessary evil".
No, it isn't. It isn't necessary at all.
But fools who want to believe it is just keep perpetuating the bloody myth...)

No, voting for Bush doesn't mean you're pro war. It simply means that you gave the man credit for an intelligence he never possessed, and for an honesty he has no ability to fulfill.

It's absolute political naivete to believe this. If someone tells you that, you should seriously doubt their knowledge about politics.

While there are many single-issue voters out there, there aren't any single-issue candidates. And while you may have voted the same way I did on election day, it's entirely possible that we have completely different motivations.

People voted for Bush for a variety of reason. The war was certainly one. But others were values voters, who may have been voting based on social views they shared with the President that had little or nothing to do with the war. Perhaps they liked his views on education, welfare reform, or any other issues.

By the same token, there are people who agree with Bush on the war, but voted for Kerry in the last election because they disagreed with the president on other issues.

Republican doesn't mean pro-war -- in fact, history shows us that Democrats are far more likely to get us into a war than Republicans are.

No one in their right mind is actually "pro war".

I support President Bush, the war efforts and our military. That does not mean that I want to be at war or that I like war. The issue is that we are at war and it is my responsibility as a citizen of this country to stand by all of the above during this time.

A nation divided will fall and it is those that have turned their back on this country that are setting us up for failure. Sure, they can argue that it is their right to speak out against our President or anything that they do not agree with. The problem is that in doing so during a national crisis such as war they are in essense siding with the enemy.

I am for this war. People don't understand that majority of the countries in the middle east are aiming for our destruction. If we don't annihilate at least the leadership of these countries, they will keep coming until we fall.

We only have to fail once.
They only have to succeed once.

No one is pro-war unless they're nuts. War is sometimes a necessary evil.

I think the better question is, how much do the people that voted for him actually know about his history and background?
