I am over 38 wks pregnant. Lost my mucus plug over a wk ago, and doctor said i was dilated a little last wk. I have been having a lot of contractions for weeks now but lately im so sore, i have lots of Pressure on my tailbone and in my hips and it is very uncomfortable to walk. Also when im walking the baby feels very low and i get pressure down there with sharp pain. Sometimes it feels like im on my period. My contractions are sometimes very regular but not always. Im so frustrated because with my son he was induced and i didnt go into labour naturally; so im nervous i wont know when its the real thing. also what would you suggest to bring on labour quickly?? And when do i go to the hospital??

If you are having this much discomfort I would get checked out at least. It is possible that you are having braxton hicks but that doesn't mean that your cervix is not changing.I would go to the hospital now. you can also speed up labor by walking as much as you can. Good luck to you.

the sharp pain is the head pressing on the pelvic floor so baby is definately head down its a bit annoying i know, the contractions if there going and stopping theyre probably just braxtin hicks, or the beginning of labour where theyre ver light i went threw the same thing and guess what 9 days overdue was enough so i took caster oil and it worked i took two table spoons and within 4 hrs i went into labour 5 min apart contractions 2 hours later baby was born and i did with my last baby hes 6 months old it worked with him too 4 hrs later i wen into labour 5 min apart and 1hr 45 he was born it doesn twork for everyone so you can try, if you get vomiting and diarrea that is normal side effect of that stuff, after 4 hrs of no contractions dont take anymore, and i would assume it didnt work, good luck it is thick so drink something after it like water or juice, also it is very safe you can ask any pharmacist and they will say it is safe to take and your doctor will say the same thing mine told me to take it when i asked so go ahead and hope this works for good luck

If you go to the hospital before you are in full blown labor they will send you home. Sorry, but you aren't there yet.
Your mucus plug can be gone for weeks before labor starts.

When your contractions are 2 -3 min. apart consistently and they are hard enough that it takes your breath away - you are ready to go to the hospital.

if you lost your mucus plug, i would go to the hospital asap. sometimes the doctor has to break your water bag to bring "actual" labor on. i wouldn't put it off much longer.
good luck!
