I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. Today I have had a really bad shortness of breath. Also, my face is nearly completely numb and tingly and I cannot think of why. It started around my mouth and now it's spreading to my entire face. My pulse is very heightened and while standing in the kitchen I nearly passed out. I haven't done or eaten anything out of the ordinary today. I normally work as a server and today was a day off so I haven't been doing anything at all physical. My doctor has suspected that I may have gestational diabetes. Should I go to the hospital or wait until the morning to call my doctor?

YES absolutely go now this is not normal. It could be worse than gestational diabetes. It sounds more like pre-eclampsia.

My daughter has gestational diabetes and she had the very exact symptoms! She is also a server and had to stop working. You should not eat many carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, sugar, etc.) Try getting your sugars down, but by all means don't take chances with your baby's health! Get to the ER if you don't feel better and if you do, go to the doctor in the morning and tell him what you experienced. You will be tested for diabetes and if your sugars are high, they will have you test yourself every time you eat. I wish you well!

Go to the hospital. Shortness of Breath is something that is considered an emergency. Either go to the Emergency Room, or call the Ambulance to take you. If it turns out to be nothing - then good for you. Be safe! Go to the ER.

i think that you need to be seen right away that also could a sign of toxemia and or high blood pressure which is so not good. i would go in to be sure of whats going on im sure that dont want anything to happen to you or the baby, dont feel like you shouldnt go if it involves you and the baby go, better safe then sorry right. The doctors always tell you to go in if somethings not right, you know your self and if it fells wrong then it is probably not good. hope this helps you.

Go to hospital. Those symptoms could mean trouble! Don't be like some people I know who waited and let the problem become much more dangerous by waiting around.

You should go as soon as possible..It is possible that you may have gestational diabetes but I am more worried about your blood pressure..you may have something called pre-eclampsia which is dangerous to both you and the baby..dont want to freak you out but you should really go ASAP!!!
