There's no direct way to subtract from percents from a calculator, so you have to do the following:
Convert the percent into a decimal by dividing by 100.
So, 20%= .2
Multiply that by your desired sum such as $50.
.2x $50= $10
Take that number and subtracted it from the original amount.
$50- $10= $40.
since the calculator does all the math, this is by far the easiest method.

First of all you want to change 20% into a decimal, so you move the decimal two to the left, which will give you 0.20, next multiply 50 x 0.20 which would equal 10. 10 is 20% of 50, but to get 20% off $50, it will just be 50 minus the 10. That would be 50-10 which equals $40. For 20% off 100, use .20 again but multiply it times 100. 100 x 0.20 is equal to 20. So now just subtract 20 from 100. 100 - 20= 80, so 20% off 100 is equal to $80. If you would of have wanted to find 35% of a number, move the decimal twice to the right which would be 0.35, then repeat the steps from the other examples.

You can do it in two ways.
1. Get the 20% value of the number
ex. 20% of $100 = $100 x 0.20 = $20
Then subtract this value from the original value.
ex. $100 - $20 = $80 (So 20% of $100 is $80.)
2. Subtract the percentage value to 100% then find the percentage value of the number using the obtained %.
ex. 100% - 20% = 80%
$100 x 0.80 = $80 (same as above)

for 20% is easy. Take 50.00. $5 would be 10% and $10 is 20%. You can do that for any number. $300 - $30 is 10% and so you double that to get 20% which is $60.
20% off of 100 is $20.

20% off of $50=50*0.80
20% off of $100=100*0.80
youdo not need to minus
20% less 100% is 80%
so just find out 80%

If something is 20% off.... then you are only paying 80% of the price. So multiply the price by 80%....
100x.8==80.0 (that would be what you pay)
if you want to know how much the discount is = to.. then take the price and multiply by .2.
when putting percents into decimals.. move the decimal two places to the left. example 25%== .25

Take $50 x .8
or $100 x .8
Its because when you times it by 1, thats 100% of the answer. So if you times it by 50% of 1, its .5. If you want to take off 20%, then you want 80% left, so you multiply it by .8

well to get the percent into a decimal, you have to take the percent over 100 and divide. then you move the decimal two places to the right and get a whole number then just subtract that number by wut ever number you want to subtract from.
