well it seems to me that if she is taking it out of his possesion then there should be something legally you can do. is she taking up work and throwing it away because it has no name on it or is she just walking up to him only and grabbing it and throwing it away. i think it is all in when and how she is doing it that will determine if there is something that can be done legally.

Firsly speak to your teacher first, explain that this upsets your child. Some teachers have no public relation skills what so ever. Try checking your childs work and make a check list to do homework NAME- CLASS -SUBJECT ETC Unfortunately the teacher is preparing the child to go out to work in the real world and if job applications or work done is not signed then that work will be disreguarded in the future by more important people, it may effect her position in life, sad it is ,but the real world doesn't wait or make allowences for mistakes, I only say this as i went back to tafe in my 40's to do ceramics course and did not know how to do an essay properly, as expected in the profesionall arena, i would answer the questions but that was it, it was scribbled down etc i had no idea and i was 45. I had to learn how to do do something that would be accepted at uni. i felt like an idiot. I went onto do t. prep and finished high school. I could never have gotten through my first semester if i wasn't taught how to do an essay as they take points off for not putting the date on it. I understand your concerns for your child- just learn yourself what needs to be done and check her work, you will both benefit from the involvement. Put up a check list on her wall too , that might help.

As a teacher, I could understand if the work was being turned in...but since its classwork and its not being turned in, I really don't understand. I think the best way to deal with the situation is to communicate with the teacher before or after school. Maybe there is more to the situation than what you are hearing.
I usually just walk around and remind students to write their name or walk over and point to the empty blank. Obviously this teacher is trying to prove some sort of point and it isn't working. With some kids, you could do this once and they would shape up and write their name...but as a teacher if something isn't working...its called "modify and adjust."
I also have way more important things to teach and do everyday than worry about a kid who keeps forgetting their name on their paper. Communication is the key. Maybe a conference between all 3 of you would be good.
Best of luck!

To be honest I'm in 7Th grade I believe the teachers have every right to do that the majority of teachers when they feel has gone on to long will start throwing away papers. The best advice is to tell your kid to start writing his/her name on their paper then the whole problem will be done and over with. If that isn't the case try raising that motion in the school comity.

If you're saying that your teacher has a personal problem with your kid. Go to the school and raise hell. Confront the teacher. Do this as often as possible until the teacher changes or you get your kid moved to another class.

Well, if you child has medical issues, that needs to be documented. Then, the school should make some changes....BUT, you can always remind your child what he has to do when he hands in work.

Move him to a different school if you have that option, It has been my personal experience that the school will support their teacher no matter what one parent says, if many other parents complained maybe somthing could be done.

You should have you're child put it's name on the paper, and if that doesnt work you should consault the teacher, and talk to her, if that doesnt work talk to the principal, or bring it to the board of education.

that's ridiculous! try talking to the teacher; tell her that you understand that she is trying discipline your child to write his name on his papers, but it obviously isn't working. Ask her to try a different approach. If that fails........I guess your kid's just going to have to shape up! Good luck!
