Muslims are not some shadowy middle eastern group - there are Muslims all over the world, from north africa to indonesia, and substantial populations in other countries.

SOME Palestinians want Israel to be wiped out. Some (more realisticly) want Israel to withdraw to its 1948 boundaries. Still others just want Israel to leave them alone.

If you interviewed a cross-section of Muslims from around the globe you'd get as many different answers as there were people you interviewed.

Lets pretend the United States government next year decided that all of the land that makes up Minnesota and Wisconsin was going to be given back to the indians. Don't you think the people who lived in those areas would be upset? Generations of families have roots there. Some possibly over 200 years!!
Now the reality of the situation in the middle east is the country of Israel was established by taking land from different countries and given to the jews as war reparations. The families that had lived there for over THOUSANDS of years were told to move on!!
Also considering the fact that most religions of the world believe that their origins began in many of the cities in that area they tend to take it quite personally that they are being extracted from it.

Some Muslims, like that bigot who runs Iran, would like to commit genocide and wipe out Israel. The holocaust deniers' argument goes something like this "There was no holocaust and let's do it again." Some Muslims would like to make peace with Israel, I am sure, but as long as the haters like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Palestinian territories won't talk to Israel other than with a rocket launcher, there won't be peace.

You are absolutely right. Israel as a country did not exist before
1948.

The Jewish people, as a people, had no country.

What they did have, however, was a biblical claim to the area that
is now Israel. They merely took back land that had previously
belonged to them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!

There was no COUNTRY where Israel now stands. What the Muslims want is the destruction of Israel with the slaughter of all Jews.

Well, the land was there. Just because it wasn't called Israel doesn't mean the land didn't exist before 1948.
