Crime or not, on the boards it's a reportable offense. It breaks both the Y!A board rules and Yahoo's general terms of service.
If enough people bother to flag the messages that are breaking the rules Yahoo will actually do something about the individual being reported. It does eventually cut back on the nasty comments. I've seen it work in Y! groups.

It is a hate crime but these idiotic little Trolls, notice Zach (***********)is back with us under ZC as a screen name, get off on it. this afternoon has been a real treat with a group of HS or grade school kids posting hate. all I can say is REPORT those Q's that need it and IGNORE and thumb's down those that don't. Good luck and Blessings.

Unfortuantely, homophobia is only a crime if it involves threats. Meanwhile, feel sorry for the poor people who are so unsure of their own sexuality that they have to demean others' lifestyles.

Report Abuse Move On
Don't answer hate questions, the hater has been reporting those that do.
Go to Yahoo Message boards, file a complaint there
http://messages.answers.yahoo.com/answers/forumview?bn=SEA-YahooAnswers
Don't just complain, do something. Yahoo does not enforce its own rules equally.

Why are so many "Tolerant" people intolerant of people who don't agree with them? And why do those "Tolerant" people then call those people names like "Homophobe?" Quite frankly, I find those people to be quite offensive and VERY hipocritical. Why also is a "Hate Crime" so much worse than any other crime? Because it was done with such malice? Pah-leazzzze.
To answer your silly questions, Yahoo doesn't have so many homophobic people on it. I'd venture to say, there are probably more corrupt, liberal minded idiots here than there are conservatives. How is this not a crime? It's in the Constitution -- something of which you should gain a greater understanding by studying. It's called "Freedom of Speech.

We all know its the closet cases filled with self hatred that go around beating drums of hate. Best bet ignore them. Don't let them get to you. They are only here to waste every body's time. You can't really do any thing about it any ways.

Its sad, i've seen questions about race and ethnicity and it makes me weep for the world, and how we aren't even moving forward anymore. Like he said, you have to report them. I should start reporting questions from now on.
