Sounds like heaven. Most of my relatives are nuts who can't cook to save their lives. And if you get tired of the fireplace channel, there's always time to rent an X-Box or porn.

No not sad or pathetic but I understand the feeling of being alone when you don't want to be alone. It sounds like you really want to be with your family. I suggest to keep the spirit of Christmas in your heart and you will not be alone. There is a reason for everything and sometimes it isn't what we want but count your lucky starts that you are allowed to do the things that you are doing and just call and wish a Merry Christmas to everyone. I'm sure they will like to hear your voice.
Have a good Holiday and happy new years....

I almost hope you are one of those twisted individuals just trying to get a reaction out of people by asking a made up question.
If you are serious sorry for doubting you motives.
Try to compensate for the TV dinner with a really great store bought desert. Rent the episode of the Beverly Hillbillies "Christmas with the Clampett's. They are very much like my real family. That is what I am going to do. Wink!!!
Aw, the soup kitchen idea that was the answer I would have given if I were a better person

This does sound sad to me. However, if you're content with this, so be it.
However, since you want your family to visit you, call them tonight and ask them to come see you Christmas Day or thereabouts, even if only for an hour or two. Or, you call and ask if you can visit them!
If you and your family can't get together, call them on Christmas Day. You might contact a local church and see if they or a parishioner has a Christmas Day event which anyone can attend, or which will gladly welcome you. You might also volunteer at a soup kitchen or visit a home for the elderly.
Merry Christmas!

Time ALONE and you are COMPLAINING or Sad or Pathetic Feeling?
WOW -- do you know how many YEARS I've WAITED to FINALLY Be ALONE on Christmas Day -- (I Was a Long-Term Single Mom to TWO Disabled children ... so think about it -- it's been decades since I was able to NOT be a Caregiver/Caretaker or just be SINGLE ...)
SOUND like SHEER PLEASURE to me -- and yes, this CHRISTMAS, FINALLY .. this Long-Term Single Parent (and the ONLY income in the home) is FINALLY FREE becuase ...
I just became an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... and I am looking FORWARD to a QUIET, PEACEFUL Christmas Day -- one where I am just going to make dinner for one, sit down, enjoy the Movies I want to watch, and listen to Christmas Carols all the way through without having to hear screeching, screaming, demands for more food, things broken/damaged, the 'oops', etc etc etc.

Its only sad and pathetic if thats how it makes you feel. if having a turkey tv dinner and watching the fire place channel, and listeneing to christmas carols makes you happy then its definately NOT sad or pathetic. There are people all over the world who would give anything and everthing to be fortunate enough to have a turkey dinner, a tv, and christmas songs to listen to so i would be thankful and happy!!

Why don't you cook a turkey dinner and invite some friends or relatives over? You don't have to be pathetic. Turkey tastes best fresh out of the oven with good homestyle dressing and potatoes. Takes a little work but you can get your friends to help prepare. Do it!!!

You get time alone?
Frankly, that sounds like HEAVEN on earth to me! I never get time alone. I crave alone time. You lucky guy! Make sure you take a long, leisurely bubble bath with candles, have a glass of wine and read a great novel or rent a new-release you've been dying to see.
Sad and pathetic or heavenly indulgence. It's all in your perspective, I guess.
God bless you and Merry Christmas!

That's sooo sad. Isn't there a church or some other place where you can have dinner with other people. You need to be around friends. Why wish for the family to visit, you should go visit them. Need a ride, i'm sure someone would be glad to pick you up.
