I've forgiven several people in my life (sometimes it was very difficult), but it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I wonder if anyone else had the same experience. Thanks!

when you forgive people it improves your life by, you don't have to think about the person anymore when your mad, or depressed, etc. you wont be putting all your anger on some one else for the person your mad at. It is for the best when you forgive someone, and it will make you feel a lot better inside, too

Forgiveness i think it's much easier said than done until you are TRULY tested. I have had personal demons with my mother, who is some1 i could never imagine completing distancing myself from, but thats exactly what i did. I'd like 2 say i had valid reasons 4doing so but the min't i go back 2considering those things.... I realize im moving backwards, and not forward. Forgivness is a daily process i believe and not something that can be done over not, and 4me it has also been 1 of the most rewarding things i have challenged myself with

Your metaphor explains it perfectly ""like a weigh has been lifted off my shoulders." Forgive, but never forget!

Yes, especially someone who may not deserve it, but forgiveness is the Christian thing to do and when you leave it in God's hands, He lifts that weight of despair off of your shoulders.

It's shows that i am the better person but i quit the relationship i had with them before then i just speak with no conversations. I always forgive no matter what the situation is about i just never forget.

I forgave my mother for my childhood. She didn't know what had happened. It lifted the guilt that I'd harboured for years.
