hmm, how about a gift ceritcate to their favorite restaruant, you can always make them something, if you are good at arranging flowers, an arrangement. how about having your picture taken for them, or a pet portrait done, or if you do photography, a beautiful print made of something you have done. how about a certificate they can use at will for chores done that they could use a break from, like mowing the lawn or shoveling their driveway or painting a room for them. the best gifts come from the heart, not the pocket, so there are hundreds of things you could do for them, that you dont normally do, that they would love
good luck

I have a friend who did this for her parents and it sounded great! She has ivideos but im sure you could just do this by hand or something. She took all her parents childhood pics and showed each of them growing up, then she showed their first pic together, their wedding, having kids and so on. She made it into a slide and put it to music they like. It's creative and wont cost a ton of money, and its probably something they don't have!

you could make them a scrapbook or something. If you have siblings, put pictures of them and you. Also pictures of your parents. Might take some time, but it'd be cheaper and more thoughtful then anything else. Just take a trip down to a craft store and buy some supplies.

Make a DVD slide show about them growing up and meeting, and getting married.
Get some old photos from family, grandparents.
You can also make them a scrap book.
And since you have said you have 40 dollars to work with, the DVD would be so cheaper, but it would be made with lots of love!

Take them out - separately - for lunch. Take them to a semi nice place (you can get a pretty good lunch for $20.00). Give them a card saying you'd love to take them out to lunch at _____________. And tell them you'll be talking to them about a date. Then go and have a one on one lunch with each of them. They will love that you took the time to SPEND time with them - and treat them. I'd much rather get this from a friend or loved one than a candle or a new scarf or something.

Well, parents tend to like sentimental things from their kids...
Go get a few things for scrap-booking and make a small simple scrap book. Just pick out some of your favorite pictures that you have that aren't already being used around the house. I did this for my mom one year and she loved it! GOOD LUCK!

Go to one of those ceramic shops where you can create your own designs on pre-fired plates, cups, bowls vases, etc. You don't need to spend a lot and your mum and da would be thrilled with your own *creativity*. But hurry though, you're running out of time.

Take pictures of you with them (already developed ones....you may have to steal them from their house) and either make a big Mural with Merry Christmas and the year on it, or take your $40 and go to www.personalizationmall.com and see what you can find!
