Everyone who answered you that said it was true was really just pulling your leg.
It is not possible to turn off the Niagara Falls...This is very much like saying they turn off the waves at the beach every night.
Here's a link to the site that clarifies how the dam takes more water from the river at night, and the total flow of water is reduced...not turned off.
FYI, you shouldn't call people names...You didn't like it when they called you names, and it goes both ways, my friend.
