Who do you purchase gifts for in your family - your parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins (all or some)? How big is your family? What is your gift giving tradition?

Our family is fairly large and most of us gather at my parents house if possible.
We buy gifts as a family for the kids. The adults don't exchange gifts, or if they want to, the gifts are limited. They must be used, re-gifted or homemade. Last year we added the category of "come from a dollar store".
We don't usually mail gifts (except the grandparents send money to the grandchildren who don't come.)

I ALWAYS buy gifts for my mom, my 2 kids, and my 3 nieces and nephews, and if possible (financially) I buy something for my 2 brothers and sister that live here in AZ, (my dad, and 2 more sisters live in Mexico) I never buy anything for my cousins, aunts, etc. We also do a gift exchange between the grown ups, so I buy a gift for whoever I get. We always celebrate Christmas together, my mom, 2 brothers, 1 sister and their respective spouse and kids, my 2 children and myself, and of course a few friends always tag along. (they love my mom's cooking)

On hubby's side the adults draw names and give gifts to only the children. there are 11 adults and 6 kids. on my side we all bring about 5-6 little wrapped marked if it is a male/female gift. we put it all in a basket and everyone gets in a big circle. we pass around 2 plates w/ dice and if you roll doubles you get to pick a gift (left wrapped) we do this for about 30 minutes . when all the gifts are taken , you can "steal" someones gift if you roll doubles. then we open the gifts and get to see what everyone got. then we play for another 20 minutes and get to steal the cool gifts. it really fun seeing all my uncles "fight" over who gets the cool ice scraper. its alot of fun and doesn't cost hardley anything. my 2 girls are the only kids in the family so they get to play but still get gifts from everyone.
