Sweetie, anyone that asks you to pay model to model is SCAMMING you. Don't you watch the Tyra Banks show? Warn your friend and be thankful you didn't have the money.

Not sure how you would get started in this industry...probably by contacting children's clothing catalogues. Then try to do commercials.

And it's not about being pretty. It's about whether or not you can pose and whether or not the camera loves you.

The 600.00 would include the photos for your portfolio. It's not entirely a scam, but you need really good headshots to get hired. The best way to start out is in commercials for local companies, especially if you're really 11, because everyone knows that children sell products almost as well as sex.

Your friend is being scammed. A real model agency doesn't charge. You do have to have a professional modeling "portfolio" done up tho, but most professional photographers can do one for you. See if you can find a portfolio that another successful model uses, and copy it. Some of today's digital cameras are capable of professional looking photos.

I'd love to become one too! So far 2 modeling agents have come up to me. I also just cant pay for tht big of an expense. I say just wait until your older. I'd wait and try to get onto Americas Next Top Model. Then you dont have to pay. And you get an amazing contract.

GOOD LUCK!!!
