Pro: There is never the pressure in the morning of having to worry what to wear, that's for sure. There won't be as big a problem with people making fun of the kids who can't afford decent clothes (or really in general, although kids always find something to make fun of. :p) Reduces a lot of stress to join a clique just because of what you wear. It will be decided more on interests, which definitely helps psychologically for a lot of kids.
Con: In a small way it decreases individuality. Some people can not afford more than one set. Maybe some people don't look good in your school color?
I personally don't think there are too many cons, besides people just not wanting to wear them, and the fact that lower income families can't afford them, so their children have to keep them clean and rewear them or wash them nightly. The individuality thing isn't really a big factor in most schools, because most places allow minimal customization, and there are also still the details such as what type of shoes to wear, how you do your hair and make-up, what and how much jewelry you wear. Some people let their creativity come out by decorating their backpacks, folders, and lockers.

As a parent, Pro - no more begging for name brands...just a basic uniform to buy for back t school. Con- A lack of child's freedom to learn to choose correct clothing.
When I was in school, this was an annual debate, I always fought to keep uniforms out of my school. As a parent I realize kids would get teased less if they were all wearing the same thing. (No more of it mattering what label is on your shirt.)

Pro: School uniforms would cut out the inappropriate clothing that many students wear to school (although this is usually found in middle and high schools). It would also keep many students from trying to "keep up with the Joneses", which may require their parents to spend mega-bucks on name-brand clothing.
Con: It takes away the students' individuality. After all, our personality is a huge factor in what we choose to wear!

the pro would be the prevention of discrimination among the pupils.noone would feel that he's richer or poorer than the otherse.and also the students wouldn't have to think on what to wear everyday.
the con is that students are forced to be in a standard type and they are tried to be shaped according to the norms and rules.that may be the basic reason for a whole a group of people who are always in the same opinion.no excitement and no difference.

School uniforms are just a way of shirking our duty to teach kids values. They stifle creativity. Young Pioneers and Hitler Youth wore school uniforms as part of their conditioning. There's plenty of time for kids to wear uniforms when they enter the adult world.
