My homepage keeps on resetting itself to google, even when i change it thousands of times. Then some sites it will take me to these weird crap sites that are just ads, if you know what I mean. Any idea of what is wrong with my computer? And how can I fix it? Thanks

Go here and run these free online scan and removal programs. Do both.

.
If your homepage seems to have a mind of it's own
that means exactly that it has been hijacked.

Here's the solution:
For any hijack problems you might encounter Get this FREE anti-Hijack software
1. The program is called HiJackThis 1.99
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
2. Download and run the program
BE CAREFUL what you delete,
from it's findings...because
it will find the offending program
and others that you may NOT want to delete.
Only delete the one that hijacked you.
3. Reset your home page
a. Surf to your homepage of choice
b. In Internet Explorer above click TOOLS > Internet Options > tab General > frame Home Page > click button USE CURRENT.
c. Click ok
=========================================

I understand that it is a problem getting rid of the Goolgle toolbar button that might be the source of this hijacking.
So if it turns around and happens again, then you need to get rid of the button:
If it is NOT in Control Panel > Add Remove Programs to "Remove"
then you'll need to do a search and use this tool to remove it:

There are many programs that are so cleverly coded that you have difficulty removing them, even going through Add & Remove Programs...

Here is a handy little tool that is FREE
download and follow the instructions
and those nuisance programs will be removed on reboot.
Use
REMOVE ON BOOT SHELL EXTENSION

Go to:
http://www.bjb-inc.com/products.asp
Scroll down to: (and click it to download)
Remove on Reboot Shell Extension - Free
OS: Windows
Size: 364 Kb

1. Download it
2. To remove program >Right click on your program folder that you want removed
3. Left click sub-menu option: REMOVE ON REBOOT
4. Then reboot your pc
I've had lots of great luck with this little program. I think you'll like it too.

Note: To get to a program FOLDER (not just the icon) >
a. RIGHT click START > select Explore >
b. then in the Explore window, left panel >
c. scroll down to Programs >
d. then in Programs scroll down to the FOLDER that has the program you want to remove

e...then do the right click "remove on reboot" selection >
f. Restart your computer

How do you know that you have a flu? Or a virus??
Because you have symptoms of such virus or infection.

Then why would it be different for a PC is infected with spyware and viruses?? It will act differently?? Right.

All that is common sense.

Go to http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ and in the top right-hand corner you can click on Free Ad-Aware SE Personal and it will take you to download.com and you can download this spy-ware and ad-ware removal software for free. It should detect and remove most spy-ware and ad-ware from your computer. However, I've found that using both this and the below Spybot Search and Destroy software will protect you even more. Sometimes one program will catch something the other one misses.

Also go to http://www.spybot.info/ and download this free Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4 software and install it on your computer and it will detect and eliminate most spy-ware and/or ad-ware. You can donate $ to them for their software if you like or not.

Good luck.

Go to tools on an internet toolbar and select popup blocker and turn it on. As popups are where most of the spyware comes from and why you are getting ad sites.

try to run more than 1 adware scanner, but not simultaneously. Also try to run them in safe-mode. If you really can't solve the problem, run the program called "Hijack-This" and post the results of the scan onto this site: http://www.techsupportforum.com/security-center/hijackthis-log-help/. There they have super experts that will analyze the log free of charge, and tell you step-by-step what you have to do.

If your computer is infected it would be running slow, slow startups too, but to get rid up off you need a software I suggest windows defender at microsoft.com or adware-find that on downloads.com.

My favourite malware program is spysweeper. It finds things that spybot and adaware dont look for. But I would also run those two programs.
