I have continued the Christmas Eve family/friends open house that my mother started doing years ago. It includes a full dinner, home made candy(my mothers recipe) and gifts for all the children. I usually have 25 to 30 people in my home every year. It is a really enjoyable evening for all.

On Christmas morning , the family will all assemble before the tree , say a prayer together and then then youngest family member will take a present from around the tree and give it to the parent , who will open first. then it's a free for all!!

My parents were married on Xmas Eve. Growing up they went out to dinner to celebrate, then came home and we opened family gifts, and waited for Santa to arrive. That tradition continues with the next generation.

My brother and I liked waking my parents up at 2:30 am every christmas, of course they told us to go back to bed.

On Christmas eve we bake a cake together...which becomes Jesus's Birthday cake.
