Everybody who says Asia is right-originally, thousands of years ago.

But the person who says the Romans's bought them to Britain is mistaken-The Celts already had horses and were expert bareback riders. What do you think pulled Boadicea's chariot? Cats?

(Although, cats originate from Africa and were bought by the Romans.)

No they were brought there by the Roman Legions who
conquered Britain and consequently built roads throughout.

Afraid not. Their ancestors originated somewjhere on the Asian steppes. It is human agency which has spread them around the globe
Having said that, certain strains have become naturalised in particular areas, such as Dartmoor.

some breeds are. the dartmoor, new forest, and welsh breeds are, and the highland pony. the welsh breeds have had outside influence to make them what they are today, but the others are still pretty much natural!
